Vision/Mission

To Transform Lives and Strengthen Communities Through Workforce Training & Apprenticeships for Youth, Adults, Veterans and the Economically Disadvantaged.

History

AmSkills was formed by Pinellas, Pasco, & Hernando Counties through an interlocal agreement as an Independent County Special District in November 2014 as an economic development and workforce training initiative for the manufacturing industry. The original name was ICTC Governing Board dba AmSkills. AmSkills, Inc. was formed as a 501c3 in 2017 and in 2020 the interlocal agreement was terminated and all assets, liabilities and operational functions were transferred to AmSkills, Inc. under the oversight of a 9-member Board of Directors. Our Mission is to transform lives & strengthen communities through workforce training and apprenticeships. This is accomplished through programs that focus on RECRUIT, TRAIN, and SUSTAIN, with high school programs, bootcamps, training classes, pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships. AmSkills primary focus is to support the Manufacturing, Public Works, Utilities and Stormwater Industries.
