Ashley

2024 – Ashley started her new career at Sensor Systems in St. Petersburg in February 2024. Ashley heard about AmSkills on Facebook. Before joining AmSkills Bootcamp #26 in January, she worked for a medical transport service, Uber Eats, and was a goat farm hand. She had zero manufacturing experience. In June Ashley said this, “ I started with Sensor Systems on February 27th. I’m an assembler and I got a raise at 90 days! Thank you so much for the AmSkills program. I’m forever grateful.”

Peter

2024 – Peter participated in Bootcamp #27 new and was hired as a Plant Mechanic Trainee with the Pasco County Utilities Department. Once hired, he continued his training by completing the AmSkills Pre-Apprenticeship and became Certified as a Production Technician. He is excelling at the plant. 

Christina

Christina (Army Veteran) was one of the first new hires with U.S. Water in 2024. Christina is a Utility Construction Tech and started mid-April. Before participating in Bootcamp #27, Christina was cleaning homes and homeless, living in her truck. She found out about AmSkills through our partner, Boley Veteran Services.

Claude

Claude is a former Army Reservist who also worked as an EMT and with Domino’s Pizza before attending the AmSkills Career Discovery Bootcamp #33 in Lealman. Claude began working at Sensor Systems as an Assembler in February of 2025. Claude heard about the Bootcamp from an AmSkills Bootcamp graduate. He studied hard to receive his Soft Skills, Digital and Academic Florida Ready to Work certifications in the Bootcamp as well. Claude said he learned that, “manufacturing isn’t always about big machinery, there are smaller simpler tasks that also need to be accomplished.”

Chandler

Chandler was a Customer Service Associate for Lowes and a PVD Tech for Brycoat Precision Coatings. A graduate from River Ridge High he came to AmSkills looking for a new career, He found AmSkills during an online search and started his new journey on May 13, 2024 at Align-Precision as a Wastewater Controller. Chandler said this after attending Bootcamp #28, “Today I accepted a position at Align Precision! Couldn’t have done it without you and the whole AmSkills team, thank you for everything!”

Evan

Evan Stone, following in the footsteps of his brother Kurt Stone, who was also a previous Bootcamp student, secured a position as a Technical Assembler at Mettler Toledo. Evan began this new position on February 25, 2025. With a strong desire to learn, Evan excelled during the Career Discovery Bootcamp. Evan also earned his Florida Ready to Work Credential. Throughout the interview process, he displayed exceptional professionalism by thanking each interviewer and proactively seeking their contact information. We are incredibly proud of Evan's achievements and wish him all the best in his new role.
