The AmSkills Advanced Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship program introduces you to the top three manufacturing careers in the Tampa Bay area and provides hands-on opportunities to train in three high-need manufacturing career tracks: Machining (CNC), Mechatronics, and Industrial Maintenance. Completion of various hands-on projects and job site tours will help you determine your best fit. Following your 4-month training, you may apply for entry into the Career Launch program where AmSkills matches qualified candidates with local manufacturing partners in either a semi-skilled job or full apprenticeship.
Machining (CNC): You will use computers to control machine tools such as lathes, mills, routers and grinders.
Industrial Maintenance: You will install, repair, maintain, and dismantle equipment.
Mechatronics: You will learn a blend of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer control, and information technology.
