Summer Manufacturing Boot Camp is for students age 15-18 to learn valuable skills and an introduction to basic manufacturing. Come and use our large variety of 3D printers, including a scanner, and learn how they work by building your own. This and other fun hands-on activities give a first-class introduction to an enjoyable and lucrative career path.Our Summer Program is a combination of workshop training and company-based instruction, students will gain exposure to working with manufacturing equipment and receive hands-on training by skilled technicians at local manufacturing companies. In addition to learning valuable manufacturing skills, interested students will be evaluated for entrance into our free 4-year apprenticeship program at AmSkills for the fall term beginning this September.

The AmSkills Advanced Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship program introduces you to the top three manufacturing careers in the Tampa Bay area and provides hands-on opportunities to train in three high-need manufacturing career tracks: Machining (CNC), Mechatronics, and Industrial Maintenance. Completion of various hands-on projects and job site tours will help you determine your best fit. Following your 4-month training, you may apply for entry into the Career Launch program where AmSkills matches qualified candidates with local manufacturing partners in either a semi-skilled job or full apprenticeship.

Our programs:
Machining (CNC): You will use computers to control machine tools such as lathes, mills, routers and grinders.
Industrial Maintenance: You will install, repair, maintain, and dismantle equipment.
Mechatronics: You will learn a blend of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer control, and information technology.

FREE 1-Day Production Workshop for Adults and Veterans

Find Out if Manufacturing Is Your Next Career

When: July 8th from 8 am - 4 pm

This workshop is designed to introduce you to three manufacturing career paths and help you make a decision about your AmSkills training. If you are 18 years or older, motivated to get a great job, and have a high school diploma or are working toward a GED, try your skills at industrial maintenance, machining (CNC), or mechatronics.
